Not that rare to see on of these, but the composition of this pic is awesome. My sister took this pic several years ago. She shoulda been a photographer...

PS It's a little grainy because it's a scanned photo.

I love these guys!! I really would love to get one but am extremely reluctant because they are supposed to be difficult to keep.

Great pic!! :D

Was mine.

Had it for about 2 years.

Was doing well until it died mysteriously one hot summer day. Ad hoc necropsy revealed the possible cause - she was eggbound. ~cry-wtry What a shame to lose a potential mother and baby at the same time. ~cry-sob

I gave the male away and haven't had the heart to try again since. Maybe someday though....

Hi Paul, I had a pair of them last year. They were doing great after some time getting used to things. Their tank was the one that had the heat emitter short out and cause my house to catch on fire, so sadly they died. ~cry-sob I'm still thinking of trying again with them in the future. Got mine at a pet store labled as common leaf turtles. Only paid $70 for the pair! :DD~woot Dawn

I recall hearing about the fire and how terrible it was. Even worse to lose precious guys like these as so few seem to be in the hands of caring knowledgeable keepers.
